Wedding DJ in Ithaca, NY
Wedding DJ and MC services in Ithaca and around the south end of Cayuga Lake. Planning sessions and the full MC role are part of every wedding I take.
What Ithaca weddings ask for
Ithaca weddings tend to split across more than one space: a ceremony above the gorges or on the water, then a reception somewhere else entirely. That transition is where timelines slip, and it is the part I plan first.
Beyond that, the work is the same everywhere: a timeline we build together, handed to your vendors on the day, and run so that nothing lands on you. I arrive two and a half to three hours early as a structural decision rather than a variable.
A reception is run, not just soundtracked. The music matters, and so does the judgment behind when each moment happens.
What the venues around Ithaca have in common
Almost without exception, weddings here put the ceremony outdoors: a field, a courtyard, a yard, across a road, or a walk into the woods. That is the defining fact about getting married around Ithaca, and it makes the forecast the largest single variable in your day.
Which means the rain plan is not paperwork. I have run one here: at Osmica the ceremony was set up outside, the weather turned, and the whole thing moved into the barn. Knowing in advance where a ceremony goes indoors, and how long that move takes, is the difference between a change of plan and a delay your guests sit through.
The other thing these buildings share is that a lot of them do not see themselves. Barns split into halves, an L-shaped room, dinner set across from the booth. In several of them the guests at dinner cannot see the dance floor at all, so entrances, announcements and the move into dancing have to be built for a room in two parts rather than one.
None of that is a drawback. It is simply what this stretch of the Finger Lakes is: outdoor ceremonies in real weather, and characterful old rooms that were not designed as ballrooms. Both are worth planning for rather than discovering.

Do you travel to Ithaca?
Yes. Ithaca is in the area I work most weeks, and travel there is part of the quote rather than a line on top of it. Weddings further out, including destination weddings, are welcome and worked out per event.
Have you worked venues in the Ithaca area?
Yes. Cayuga Shoreline, Firelight Camps, Inn at Taughannock, John Joseph Inn, La Tourelle, New Park, Osmica at Spring Trail Farm, Silver Queen Farm, Stratton Creek Inn are among the venues I have already worked in and around Ithaca. Knowing a room in advance means load-in, ceremony sound, and booth placement are settled before the day rather than on it.
How far in advance should we book?
Peak spring and fall Saturdays are usually claimed a year or more out, and my calendar currently extends into 2027. If your date matters, it is worth asking early even if the rest of your planning is not finished.
What does a wedding in this area typically cost?
Most weddings I work invest between $4,000 and $5,500. Every wedding is quoted on its own timeline, venue, and hours. Planning sessions and the full MC role are included in every package, with ceremony sound and uplighting quoted alongside.
We do not have a wedding planner. Is that a problem?
No. Some couples hire a planner, some hire a day-of coordinator, some rely on venue staff, and some have none of the above. Put me in touch with whoever is involved and I deal with them directly rather than through you. Where there is no coordinator, the reception timeline is mine to run so that role does not quietly become yours.
